The limousine bus reaches Tempozan in about an hour if the timing fits. Otherwise Namba, Midosuji to Hommachi, Chuo Line to Osakako, then five minutes on foot.

Take a West Japan JR Bus from Kyoto Station that actually stops at Ryoanji-mae, about one minute from the temple. Not every service on that route calls there.
