Tokyo Skytree announced that from 1 April 2026 it sets observation deck admission prices day by day, replacing the categories it used before — weekday against weekend, and advance against same-day. The fixed weekday-and-holiday price table its English booking page was carrying in September 2026 is therefore a reference point rather than a quotation, and the figure that binds you is the one shown for your date at the moment you book.
That is the whole of the difficulty with this question. There is no longer one Skytree ticket price to look up, and any page that quotes you a single number — including the tower’s own English page — is quoting a reference point, not a price you are being offered.
What the release changed, and what the English page was still printing
Skytree’s Japanese press release on introducing variable pricing states the change plainly. From 1 April 2026, individual observation deck admission tickets are priced with rates set for each day. It applies to two products: the Tembo Deck ticket and the Tembo Deck plus Tembo Galleria set ticket. The release says the previous classification — weekday against weekend and holiday, advance purchase against same-day purchase — is replaced by that daily pricing, and gives the reason as evening out visitor numbers between busy and slow periods and easing congestion. The detailed rate table is referenced as a separate attachment and is not printed in the release itself.
The English page for online tickets, read in September 2026, still presented a table organised exactly the way the release says it stopped organising prices.

The same page carried two sentences that sat oddly beside that table. One said “Prices of the Fixed Date/Time Ticket may vary depending on the visit date,” which is the variable pricing showing through. The other said advance buyers “Enjoy a lower price than same-day tickets,” which is the distinction the Japanese release describes as removed. It printed no same-day price table to compare against.
The usable reading is narrow, and worth stating exactly. Use the printed figures to know the order of magnitude — roughly two thousand yen for the lower deck and roughly three thousand for both — and treat the price displayed on your chosen date, at the moment of booking, as the real one. Budgeting from a screenshot of that table is budgeting from a scheme the operator has said it superseded, and the page may have been rebuilt since it was read.
What the printed table still tells you about the gaps
Even as a reference point, the four rows carry structure worth keeping.
The holiday premium is small. On the printed figures an adult pays ¥200 more for the Tembo Deck on a holiday than on a weekday, and ¥300 more for the combo. Both gaps are far smaller than the gap between the two ticket types themselves.
The step up to the Galleria is not small. On the printed figures an adult pays ¥1,000 more on a weekday to add the Tembo Galleria to the Tembo Deck, and ¥1,100 more on a holiday. That is close to half the deck-only price again, for the upper level.
The age brackets follow school year, not just age
Three brackets appear on the English page. Adult means 18 years and over. Teenager means junior high and high school students, given as 12 to 17 years. Child means elementary school students, given as 6 to 11 years. A family pricing a visit counts by school stage as well as by birthday, because that is how the categories are written.
Two observation levels, and only the combo ticket lists the upper one
The tower stands 634 metres tall. The observation areas sit well below that, and they are separate products.
- Tembo Deck occupies three floors, numbered 340, 345 and 350.
- Tembo Galleria occupies two floors, numbered 445 and 450.
Of the two products on the printed table, only the combo names the Galleria. This is the one structural choice the ticket page asks you to make in advance, and it is a choice about height rather than about time of day.
Advance and same-day visitors enter through different doors
The floor guide for 4F, the entrance floor, splits arrivals in two. Same-day admission is directed to the East Entrance: “For the same-day ticket admission entrance, please proceed from here, which is the East Entrance.” Holders of tickets reserved in advance for a fixed date and time are directed elsewhere: “For the fixed date/time tickets reserved in advance and the fixed-date ticket entrance, proceed from the 4F Sky Arena to this entrance.”
The ticket counter for individual visitors is on the same floor, so both doors sit on one level with the counter between them. Which of the two is yours is settled by how you bought the ticket rather than by where you happen to be standing, and the floor guide is where that is stated.
From the same date, an online ticket is a code rather than a counter visit
A separate release, dated 18 February 2026 and issued by Tobu Tower Skytree, changes what buying online involves. From 1 April 2026, people who bought admission on the web enter using the issued two-dimensional code and no longer need to exchange it at the ticket counter. The same release extends the buying window: tickets that could previously be bought one month ahead can be bought up to three months ahead, and it gives 2 March 2026 at 12:00 as the moment tickets for 1 April to 31 May went on sale.
It also states that the North Entrance is permanently open from the same day, and that the ticket counter moves from the west side of 4F, near the admission gate, to the east side. The floor guide still describes the two doors above, so the two documents sit alongside each other rather than one replacing the other.
The hours are the same on every official page checked
The observation decks open at 10:00 and close at 22:00, with last admission at 21:00. Those times appear on the official English top page and again in the official FAQ, worded differently in the two places but identical in substance; the FAQ puts it as “The observation deck is open from 10:00am to 10:00pm (Last admission 9:00pm).”
A 21:00 last admission means the closing hour is genuinely usable, which matters given that the printed price table draws no distinction between a daytime and an evening visit. Whether the day-by-day pricing introduced in April 2026 draws one is not something the official pages answer.
What is settled and what is not
Settled: the tower is 634 metres; the Tembo Deck occupies floors 340, 345 and 350 and the Tembo Galleria floors 445 and 450; three age brackets run 18 and over, 12 to 17 and 6 to 11; the decks run 10:00 to 22:00 with last admission at 21:00; advance and same-day visitors use different entrances on 4F; and from 1 April 2026 the operator sets observation deck prices for each day rather than by weekday, weekend or purchase timing.
Not settled by the official pages: what you will actually pay on a given date. The weekday and holiday figures above are what the English booking page was showing in September 2026, under a scheme the Japanese release describes as replaced, and that page can be rebuilt at any time. Check the date you want, in the booking flow, and take that number.
